She holds a Bachelors Degree in Child Psychology and a Masters Degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Languages. Ms. Bristol has worked with an array of children, including children in gifted programs and also children exhibiting many behavioral and academic challenges including ADD, ADHD, and Autism. Ms. Bristol’s commitment as a caring teacher shows through the strong bond she builds with the students and their parents. As a Christian teacher here at Redland Christian Academy, Ms. Bristol strives to exemplify Christian behavior through the daily implementation of prayer and Christ’s love in her class room.
2nd Grade Curriculum/Daily Schedule The Second Grade Curriculum is challenging and fun in Ms. Bristol’s class. The children follow the ABEKA Curriculum. This curriculum includes Bible, Phonics, Language, Reading, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Health throughout the school year. Our second graders dive right in beginning with lesson number one on the very first day of school. This diligence and hard work sets the standard for a very productive school year. Our Second Grade Curriculum also includes reinforcement home learning sheets that are assigned four days a week. Beginning in January, second graders begin the transition of weekend homework, which usually includes a fun book report. This builds retention and comprehension for each student. The second grade daily schedule also includes extra classes such as Computers, Spanish, Physical Education, Art, and Music.
Second Grade Projects The Second Grade Class projects and photos can be seen on the Classroom Project Board. Parents enjoy seeing their child’s creative mind at work! The second grade class will complete one major Cultural Day Project and two major Science Projects for the year! That is usually a very exciting time for the students and parents alike…..Come read Ms. Bristol’s Classroom Project Board for the upcoming 2009-2010 school year!
Parent and Teacher Collaboration Ms. Bristol believes that the success of every student in her class is determined by the collaboration and communication between the student’s parent, and the teacher. Therefore, she keeps an open door policy throughout the school year. Every parent is allowed to call and meet with her at their convenience. The success of our students is a team effort and a true collaboration of minds. With prayer, love, trust, and determination, this school year will be very happy, productive, and successful for all of the Second Grade students.
