Hello parents and students!
I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and the classes I am teaching this year. Originally, I am from a small town in Texas called Stockdale. I graduated high school there and later moved to Abilene where I received a degree in English from Abilene Christian University. The past two years of my life have been spent as an apprentice missionary, during which time I worked in Lubbock, TX receiving Bible training, and later moved to Homestead where I worked under Mike Hoots, RCA’s Bible teacher.
I am now the history teacher here at RCA and am enjoying teaching Cultural Geography, American Government, and American History. This is my first year with these courses, but already I have come to see that each is vital to students’ growth and development. They are vital not only because they offer information that all citizens of our country should be familiar with, but they are courses that will contribute greatly to students’ spiritual growth. I am teaching each of these subjects from a Christian perspective, which I believe will aid students in their forming a strong foundation for their faith.
If you have any questions, concerns or comments, these can be expressed via phone call, meeting (by appointment please) each day after school (3:15 p.m.), or e-mail.
Sincerely,
Ms. Tamez
