My name is Mariana Colman and I am the Spanish teacher for Redland Christian Academy. I have been teaching at Redland Christian Academy for the past 14 years. It has been a blessing to teach and get to know all of your children. I have enjoyed watching the children learn another language and culture as it enriches their knowledge.
This year we will be using a new curriculum for Middle and High School Spanish classes called Realidades. Realidades is an excellent program which helps students build communication and understand grammar skills. In addition, this program offers Technology support to motivate the students.
Middle School
5th grade will be using “Realidades A” Textbook Tema 1-2
6th grade will be using “Realidades A” Textbook Tema 3-4
7th grade will be using “Realidades B” Textbook Tema 5-6
8th grade will be using “Realidades B” Textbook Tema 7, 8 and 9
High School
Spanish 1 will be using “Realidades 1”
Spanish 2 will be using “Realidades 2”
In High School, they also have Spanish each day of the week, as a requirement to complete the credit.
In Elementary, we are using a great Christian curriculum by Bob Jones University Press. The students will be learning how to pray, memorize verses from the Bible and songs all in Spanish. They will also learn about the different countries of the world.
I look forward to working with each student this year and hope all the parents will take the time to come to school and to visit me and our classes.
