Redland Christian Academy

Thank you for your interest in Redland Christian Academy. Since 1977, we have given parents the opportunity to send their children to a private school offering smaller classes, traditional learning styles, and most importantly, God centered teaching. R.C.A. is operated by members of the Homestead Church of Christ, and is governed by a board of directors. R.C.A. is FULLY ACCREDITED by the Association of Independent Schools of Florida, the National Christian School Association, and the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools.
The efforts of our entire staff are directed toward providing the best educational environment and facility for your children. Our goal is to provide every student the opportunity to achieve success academically and spiritually. The curriculum we use at R.C.A. helps us to attain that goal. The A Beka curriculum and Bob Jones University Press curriculum provide sound Biblical principles which uplift, encourage, and promote strong moral values. It also places a strong emphasis on the academic basics, including phonics as a basis for reading. We believe that a child who has a strong phonetic foundation will excel in all other subjects. In addition, we also use some of the finest secular curriculum in our high school to prepare our students for the rigors of college

In addition to our fine academic curriculum each student attends daily Bible classes. We also hold weekly chapel services, spending time praising and glorifying God.

Faculty

All of our teachers from first grade through high school have at least a Bachelors Degree or higher and are either certified by the State of Florida or are in the process of becoming certified.  Our pre-school teachers all have either a HRS certification in childcare or a Child Development Associates degree.

Discipline

We insist on orderly classrooms where teachers can teach and students have the ability to learn without major distractions.  We use a variety of techniques in disciplining children.  Whichever technique we use, communication with the parents always comes first.  Our ultimate goal is to apply discipline according to sound Biblical principals.  Proverbs 22:6 says to "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."

School Calendar and Hours

We attend school for approximately 180 days each school year.  For our parents’ convenience, we try to follow the Dade County Public School calendar for most holidays, but we do have less teacher work days.  School begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM, except on Wednesday when we dismiss at 2:00 PM.

Dress Code

Redland Christian Academy requires that students wear uniforms.  Our uniforms are very moderately priced and can be ordered by phone and online and delivered by UPS for our parents' convenience.

School Programs

Redland Christian Academy has a hot lunch program, an after school care program, before school care program and an intramural sports program.  Every student participates in regular physical education classes, Spanish classes and computer classes.  Redland Christian Academy also has a full library and a very active Parent, Teacher & Friends organization where parents get involved and have a voice in school activities.  We offer very competitive tuition prices and a 15% discount for additional children from the same family.  We can also tailor your tuition payments to meet your needs.

We hope this has answered many of the questions you may have about our school.  If you would like additional information and tuition prices, please call our school office at (305) 247-7399.  You may also view the Frequently Asked Questions portion of this website or the student handbooks on this website for more detailed information.
