What is Redland Christian Academy? R.C.A. is a private, Christian school. We have been serving the Homestead community since 1977. R.C.A. is a ministry of the Homestead Church of Christ and our School Board members are members of the Homestead Church of Christ. R.C.A. is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Our purpose is to provide area students with an excellent academic education and the teachings to allow them to develop a personal relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ.
What grades attend R.C.A? R.C.A. serves preschoolers (3 and 4 year olds) through 12th grade.
What credentials do your teachers have? All of our preschool teachers have CDA's (child development associates degrees). Our elementary, middle school and senior high school teachers all possess a Bachelor's degrees or higher. Several of our teachers also possess Master's degrees. All of our teachers are either certified or in the process of certification.
What curricula do your students use? Our preschool and elementary students use the A Beka curriculum. A Beka is a Christian based curriculum with a strong phonetic reading program. Our students learn to read in preschool and continue to excel from there. Our middle school and senior high school students use a variety of curricula written by leading publishers including Prentice Hall, Glencoe, Harcourt, Holt, Reinhart & Winston and BJU Press. Our curricula and courses challenge students to perform to the fullest extent of their potential.
What is the teacher/student ratio at R.C.A? In preschool, we have a 12:1 ratio for our teacher and three-year olds and a 15:1 ratio for our teacher and four-year olds. In Kindergarten through 12th grade, our ratio 20:1 for teacher and students. Our Special Education classes average 15 students for every teacher or teacher's aide.

Do you provide transportation? No, we do not provide transportation, but we do have a list of local bus companies that will transport students to and from our school. Their fees are based on the distance the child lives from school. They provide both one-way and round trip transportation. See transportation companies list.
What scholarships does R.C.A. accept? We accept the Step Up for Students scholarships (formerly known as Florida Pride) and a limited number of McKay Scholarships based on space availability. The Head Administrator will make a decision as to whether or not Redland Christian Academy can meet the needs of students on the McKay Scholarship.
When can I enroll my child? Students may be enrolled at R.C.A. any time during the school year if there is space available in the child's grade. If you are considering enrolling your child for the next school year, open enrollment begins March 1st and continues until the class fills up.
What is required for enrollment? Parents must bring the student's birth certificate, health records, social security card, previous school records (including the I.E.P. if a student has been identified with a disability) and the appropriate fees (click here for tuition prices). Students are required to have a reference form completed from their previous school. All new students entering 1st through 12th grade must be tested for grade placement.
Are students and their families required to be Christians to attend Redland Christian Academy? No, neither the students nor their families are required to be Christians to attend R.C.A. However, all students will attend daily Bible classes and chapel services and all students and their families will be encouraged to worship God regularly with their regular church. If you do not have a church home, then you are most welcome to worship with us at the Homestead Church of Christ.
